This website is run by Thrive Tribe. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

My Computer My Way has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability and the AT Hive can help you find assistive technologies that work for you.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • Some pages are missing H1 elements. On the Professionals page, there are also several visual headings which are not also programmatic headings. This fails WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (A).

  • The Home page and Lose weight page either do not respond to user-triggered text spacing or introduce clipping issues. This fails WCAG 1.4.12 Text Spacing (AA).
  • The logo link in the navigation does not have descriptive link text. There are several “Read more, “Sign up”, and “Sign in” links across pages which are not uniquely described. This fails WCAG 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context) (A).
  • The Advice page contains image links and filter options which do not receive focus indication. This fails WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible (AA).
  • The Burger menu does not trap focus or close when a user leaves the menu which can lead to keyboard users navigating content which is visually obscured. This fails WCAG 2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured (Minimum) (AA).
  • Image links on the Advice page have conflicting hidden attributes. This fails WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (A).
